Origin
Kodagu District, Karnataka
Coorg produces over 30% of India's total coffee output. The region's unique combination of altitude, rainfall, and shade-grown cultivation under native forest trees creates a terroir unlike any other coffee-growing region in the world.
GI Certificate
Coorg Arabica Coffee holds an official Geographical Indication (GI) tag from the Government of India (2019), certifying its exclusive origin from the Kodagu (Coorg) district of Karnataka - India's premier shade-grown coffee region.
The Origin Story
India's finest Arabica, from the misty hills of Kodagu
Coffee arrived in India in the 17th century, carried by the Sufi saint Baba Budan who smuggled seven beans from Yemen to the hills of Karnataka. Those seven beans gave rise to one of the world's great coffee traditions - and Coorg sits at its heart.
Coorg Arabica is grown under the shade of silver oak, jackfruit, and pepper vines at elevations between 900 and 1,500 metres. The shade-grown method slows the maturation of the coffee cherry, allowing sugars to develop fully and creating the complex flavour profile that distinguishes Coorg from all other Indian coffees.
Our beans are sourced from a single estate in the Virajpet taluk of Kodagu, where the fourth-generation family has been growing coffee since 1920. Hand-picked at peak ripeness, wet-processed, and medium-roasted to preserve the origin character - this is Indian coffee at its finest.

Customer Reviews
The best Indian coffee I have ever tasted
I have been drinking specialty coffee for years and this Coorg Arabica is genuinely world-class. The chocolate and dark fruit notes are unmistakable. Brewed as a pour-over it is extraordinary. I am done with imported beans.
My morning ritual is now sacred
I grew up in Coorg and always knew our coffee was special. This is the real thing - shade-grown, single-estate, with a depth of flavour that mass-market coffee cannot touch. The aroma when you grind it is worth the price alone.
Converted a tea drinker
My partner has never liked coffee. One cup of this and she asked me to order more. The smoothness and lack of bitterness is remarkable. The chocolate notes are real and the finish is long and clean. Exceptional.
