Origin Story

The Malabar Coast
of Kerala.

For over 3,000 years, the Malabar Coast has been the world's most coveted source of black pepper. Ancient trade routes - the Spice Routes - were built around this single ingredient. Roman emperors paid ransoms in pepper. Vasco da Gama sailed around Africa to find it.

Amā (अमा) works directly with small-holder farmers in Wayanad and Idukki districts. Our sourcing team visits each harvest season to ensure quality, traceability, and fair compensation.

The only pepper I will ever buy

I have been cooking for 20 years and this is genuinely the best black pepper I have ever used. The aroma when you grind it is extraordinary - nothing like the pre-ground powder from supermarkets.

Malabar magic in a jar

Ordered on a whim and now I am completely converted. The heat is clean and complex, not just sharp. My pepper steak has never tasted better.

Exceptional quality

Noticeably superior to anything I have bought before. The whole peppercorns are plump and fragrant. Would love a larger pack size option.
